How do you expect to fund your stay?

A Dutch salary is not required in every case. We use this information only as a first indication; supporting proof may be requested later when relevant.

Household fit

Help us understand how you live in a shared home

There are only three private rooms in the residence. These questions help us build a safe, comfortable household rather than placing unrelated residents together at random.

More than a room: a temporary Amsterdam home with clear service, regular management presence and practical household support.

The residence

A shared home, professionally managed.

Residents have their own furnished room and share the kitchen, relax area, bathroom and other household facilities. The residence also has a dedicated management workspace, a shared coffee point and direct support for practical household issues.

A managed living concept

One monthly rate. The practical side of living is already arranged.

AmsterdamRoom is designed for temporary residents who want a furnished room and the reliability of a managed property without arranging utilities, internet, linen, cleaning or household support separately.

Utilities included

Gas, water and electricity are included in the monthly rate.

High-speed internet

Fast internet is available throughout the apartment.

Linen & towels

Bed linen and fresh towels are provided as part of the managed stay.

Cleaning & weekly check

Shared areas are cleaned regularly and the apartment receives a weekly property check.

Dedicated service contact

Practical household issues can be reported through one direct service contact.

24/7 emergency contact

A manager is reachable at all times for urgent incidents and emergencies.

Household maintenance

Normal maintenance and essential appliance issues, including refrigerator and washing-machine problems, can be reported.

Water & plumbing support

Water, plumbing and essential household-facility problems are handled through the managed service.

A good match for

A reliable temporary base while you build your Amsterdam chapter.

This concept works best for independent, tidy residents who want a calm shared home, professional support and transparent house rules.

Different situations can qualify

No Dutch salary yet? That does not automatically exclude you.

We have designed the application process around international residents. Students, interns and newly arrived expats may not yet have a Dutch payslip. Financial suitability can therefore be shown in several reliable ways.

Employment income

Salary or reliable professional income can support an application.

Savings or available funds

A sufficient account balance for the intended stay may be considered.

Scholarship or study funding

Scholarships, grants and recognised study funding can be relevant.

Family or third-party support

Reliable parental or other financial support may also be considered where appropriate.

What matters is whether the full stay is financially realistic and whether the applicant is a good fit for the household. Supporting documents are requested only when needed during the review.

Connected living

A private resident WhatsApp group for everyday house communication.

Current residents can be invited to a private WhatsApp group with management for practical coordination, shared-space updates and normal household communication. It makes it easier to meet the people you live with without turning the residence into an anonymous room rental.

Residents + management

Only current residents and management participate. The group is for practical communication; urgent incidents still go through the dedicated emergency contact.

Joining the WhatsApp group is handled transparently because group participants can see each other’s phone numbers.
On-site management

Visible management without turning the apartment into a reception desk.

A designated management workspace is located in the shared living area. The manager may work there during normal working hours for administration, property management and resident support. The workstation and management computer are private staff-use facilities.

24/7 emergency contact

A manager is reachable at all times for urgent incidents and emergencies. Routine requests are handled during normal service hours.

Shared Coffee Point

A small shared coffee and tea station is available in the hallway with reusable cups and basic facilities.

A complimentary starter supply of coffee and tea may be provided. It is not an unlimited daily refill service; residents can use their own compatible coffee or tea supplies afterwards.
Selection & safety

Three residents may arrive as strangers. We do not leave that combination to chance.

AmsterdamRoom is a small shared residence. Every stay request is personally reviewed before acceptance. We verify identity, look at the purpose and expected duration of the stay, discuss shared-living preferences and consider how a new resident fits with the household already in place.

The aim is simple: a home where people can meet each other while still feeling safe, respected and comfortable. Availability alone does not guarantee acceptance.

01Identity verification

Valid identity and contact details are verified before a stay can be confirmed.

02Purpose of stay

We ask why you are in Amsterdam and may request relevant supporting information.

03Personal intake

A short conversation helps us understand expectations, routine and shared-living preferences.

04Household compatibility

We consider the overall household balance using practical, behaviour-based criteria such as routine, privacy, visitors and use of shared spaces.

Clear house rules

Visitors are welcome, but the apartment remains controlled and residential.

Visitors must be announced in advance. Overnight visitors are limited to 2 nights per week and 6 nights per calendar month per room, and may not become additional residents.
